Sunshine and Rainy Days

Danielle sighed as she laid out on her beach towel. She was one of the camp counselors at Camp Twin Oaks. It was a combination summer camp. Practically anything MUSICAL that you liked you could find there. Campers were aged 5 to 16. Counselors were 18+.

For Danielle, this summer was probably the worst summer possible. Her parents were getting a divorce. Her boyfriend of four years had broken up with her for her best friend and NOW, she’d just learned that a former love of her (he’d broken her heart in the seventh grade) was being forced to be a camp counselor as a punishment.

“Dani!” Lynne, another counselor, called as she came up to join her friend.

“Hey.” Dani grumbled. She didn’t know that Lynne was in a similar prediament as her.

“You sound like you love the sunshine.” Lynne joked. Dani laughed softly.

“Remember back around seventh grade? That Jared guy I was like in love with? He’s here this summer.”

"Ugh my ex boyfriend is here too! Remember year 10, we were fifteen? I dated that football player who cheated on me, Matt Lanter...he's working here." Lynne sighed, "It sucks."

Jared and Matt happened to walk up at that moment. Jared didn't rcognize his ex and he checked out her lean body.

"Take a fucking picture, Jared." She hissed and stood up, yanking her towel around herself.

"Dani?" He gasped. She was surprised that her heart skipped a beat at his voice.

"Yeah.." She nodded.

"Hey Lynne..." Matt muttered.

"Hi." Lynne put her sunglasses back on.

The girls faced them, frowning.

"Why are you here?" They asked the boys simultaneously.

"No choice." They muttered.

The girls couldn't help but laugh.

Lynne said, "We're going to our cabin. Kindly stay AWAY." The girls walked the distance to the cabin and entered it.

They were dismayed when the men entered.

"This is our cabin." Jared said before the girls could say anything.

"This is our cabin." Lynne raised an eyebrow.

"You have GOT to be kidding me!" Danielle said in annoyance. She laughed slightly, "This was going to be OUR cabin. We weren't supposed to have other counselor's with us this year. You two are being FORCED to be here so of course, we got stuck with you."

Matt laughed, "It's kind of funny."

"No, it's not." Lynne mumbled.

"We need the counselor's of cabin 15 to please report to the office."

"Time to go get the information on our campers, douchebag." Dani said to Jared.

"Okay." Was all he mumbled. The boys followed the girls into the office silently.

After they got the infomation on their campers (they got 16 12 year old boys and girls), Dani was asked to show Jared around. Lynne was asked to do the same wih Matt. Dani gritted her teeth and led Jared outside.

"Why do you hate me?" Jared asked her as they silently walked toward the mess hall.

"Because. You suck." She replied instanly.

"Mature." Jared muttered.

"The medic's office is over here." Lynne showed Matt.

"Hey, I'm sorry about everything." Matt sighed.

"Whatever." Lynne shrugged.

Dani stopped and glared at him. She pointed her finger at him, "I know all about the fucking rumors you started. Every one of them. UGH!"

"What? It was 7th grade. I jokingly told someone you stuffed your bra. That's it! I told your best friend." Jared couldn't help but laugh.

"Aren't you a little hateful?" He replied softly

"Shut up!" Dani snapped.

"Look, Matt. I don't care. I don't care about what happened. I don't care about you. I don't care." Lynne said.

Jared grabbed her hand and pulled her into the empty mess hall. He gently pushed her against the wall, "Seems to me you have some tension that I should ease."

She shoved him away, "Jesus Jared. Figure out the camp yourself." She snapped before she left him standing there.

"It's not fucking fair that I have had a boner for her for seven years." Jared mutterd as he went back to the cabin.

"I do though." Matt said softly.

Dani went off to find Lynne.

"Oh well." She shrugged.

Lynne looked up to see her friend.

"Matt, why don't you find Jared and show him the camp you've seen." Dani said in annoyance, "I need my friend."

"Uh okay. I'll talk to you later Lynn." He muttered and rushed off.

"Thanks." Lynne muttered.

"Jared just tried to fuck me." Dani snapped, "Sort of."

"She seems like an ass." Lynne said.

Dani nodded, "He is."

"Matt keeps trying to be nice to me." Lynne said, "I wish he'd just go away."

Dani nodded, "I can't BELIEVE we have to share a cabin with them. I thought you and I would be splitting the kids. Ugh. And do you know what pisses me off the most about Jared?"

"That you wanna fuck him too?" Lynne said with a giggle.

Dani laughed loudly, "You know me too well!!"
