Thrill of Speed

Jax shrugged, "That's your problem." He was playing it as cool as possible.

He called Clay and was ordered to drive to the nearest hospital. Her daddy was en route.

"Is this a thing Jax?" Deliah asked.

"I don't want you fucking other guys." Jax said, "And if you so much as look at Prospect again I will kill him."

"You guys fuck anything that moves." She rolled her eyes.

He piled her gently into the car. "We will be there soon." He said softly before kissing her cheek and getting into the drivers side.

Jax grit his teeth together, "Maybe. But what is mine is MINE."

He sped to the hospital, glad that it was so close. He'd already called the cops to her house to get the stalker.

The nurses took one look at her and hurriedly got her onto a gurney.

"It doesn't work that way." She shrugged. "If you want me to be yours, then you're sure was hell going to be mine. No other girls."

"What?" Jax snapped, he was used to girls just being flattered by his attention.

"No other girls." Deliah repeated, "Not home. Not on the road. None."

He counted the minutes until Clay arrived. He had a feeling he was in trouble.

Jax thought about it for a moment. It's not like she'd find out anyway, "Fine. Agreed!"

"What is your relationship to her?" A doctor asked as he tried to follow into the trauma room.

"Brother."

"Well, we'll come find you as soon as we confirm we won't have to do surgery." The doctor said softly. Opie nodded. He was glad he'd thought to say brother instead of boyfriend. He wouldn't want them to think he had done this to her.

"I am serious Jackson." She said.

"Okay." He shrugged and went to walk past her.

Deliah stood in his way, "I will make an exception to my no guns rule if I find out you're lying to me."

Suddenly Clay came booming into the ER waiting room.

Jax rolled his eyes and huffed, "I'm certainly not lying right now."

Clay glared at Opie and shoved past him into the trauma room. For the next hour, Clay stayed in there as they put a cast on Nat's wrist and leg. When he came out he looked at Opie, "We're getting her out tomorrow. You're...just...stay the fuck away from me for the next two hours."

Just as she wandered to herself why she even agreed to this he lifted her chin and planted a kiss on her lips. He smiled, "I've got to talk to your Daddy..hang out with me after?"

Opie knew better than to open his mouth. He walked straight outside and had a cigarette.

She simply nodded.

Opie glared at his phone. He'd already tried calling Jax fifteen thousand times.

Thirty Minutes Later

Preston watched his daughter waiting for Jax by the door. He wanted very badly to protest her interest in the biker but things had been shaky with his associates lately and he knew one thing, if Deliah was with Jax, then she'd be safe so he bit his tongue.

Jax and Deliah walked outside, she got on his bike behind him and wrapped her arms around him.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"My mom is having the club over for dinner. That okay?" Jax asked. He also wanted to make a point to the other guys that Deliah was with him.

"Sure."

I owe that son of a bitch a beating He thought as he light another cigarette.

She enjoyed the ride more than she thought she would.

Clay and Opie went to the house to get Opie's bike loaded into the truck Clay had brought. Opie would be driving Natalie back in her car. After the two of them got back, Clay cornered opie. He shoved him against the wall.

"You were stupposed to fucking WATCH HER! WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU FUCKING DOING? WHY WEREN'T YOU OR JAX WITH HER AT ALL TIMES?" Clay seemed to remind himself that Jax was supposed to be here, "Where the fuck is Jax?"

"This is Deliah. She's with me." Jax said as she walked in. She was well received and Gemma surprisingly took an immediate liking the girl.

"Sit here, sweetheart." Gemma said when dinner was being served. She placed her between herself and Jax. He smiled.

Opie assumed he knew. "Jax is home. He took a job for the Mayor. He said he was hard up for cash."

The Prospect walked in and blanched when he saw Jax and Delilah sitting at the table.

Clay pulled his cell phone from his pocket. He dialed Gemma's number. When she answered he immediately started shouting at her about how HER son had almost let HIS daughter get killed.

"Just sit the fuck down and keep your mouth shut." Jax muttered. He raised an eyebrow towards his mother.

"What the fuck are you talking about?!" Gemma exclaimed to Clay.

"What daughter?" She shouted. Jax stared at his mother.

"What happened to Nat?" He asked immediately. Gemma stared at her son.

"Clay has a daughter. And you knew. Clay, I'll be there in a few hours." Gemma finally said to her husband.

"That asshole hurt her. But she'll be fine. I will deal with you later." Gemma snapped at her son before storming out the door.

Jax stood up and gave Deliah a look that let her know she should follow. He took her into his old bedroom and sat on the bed, "I guess you want to know what that was all about." She nodded and he explained ending with how he took work for her dad, but he did not say what type of work.

"Oh shit." She sighed and leaned into him.

Jax sighed and held her close, "Shit Del. Shit.

"Hey.." She said softly and lifted his eyes to hers, "Gemma said she'd be fine. If you were there the exact same thing could have happened. You took the job because the club needed money."

He planted a little kiss on her cheek, "I know..."

"Jax...what exactly did my dad hire you to do?" Deliah sighed.

He looked at her, "Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answers to babe." She nodded.

For some reason, Del felt exhausted. She laid back on the bed. She hoped, to herself, that Jax would snuggle up to her.

And Jax did, he took off his vest and rings, put his gun on the end table, and laid down with his arm around her.

"Want to just crash here tonight?" He whispered. She nodded and they both fell asleep.

*The Next Morning*

Deliah was making herself and Jax some breakfast, he was sitting at the table drinking coffee when finally Gemma, Opie, Clay, and Nat walked in the door. Deliah quickly added more to the griddle but didn't say anything at first, she knew to let Jax be the first to speak.

He stared at his sister, quickly taking in the casts, "I'm so sorry, Natty." He muttered before he walked over and hugged her. Her face was bruised pretty badly but she seemed okay.

She shrugged, "Op was just trying to keep Becca out. Don't be mad." She turned on her good leg to Opie, "Please let me go lay in your bed." Opie looked at Clay.

"Go and watch over her. You do everything she wants." Clay said simply.

"Delilah will bring you a plate." Gemma said before she went to stand by Delilah.

Deliah nodded. Natalie and Op went to lay down for a while.

"Thanks for making breakfast baby." Gemma smiled. "You spending the day with us?"

"I don't know..." Deliah said, looking at Jackson, she didn't know if he had stuff to do.

He shrugged at her. It was enough permission for her to tell Gemma she'd be around.

A few hours later Jax and Deliah walked into her house. She had had trouble getting in touch with her father so they decided to stop by. Jackson didn't want her to come but she raised hell when he tried to leave her behind. Preston was laying dead on the floor, shot in the head. Deliah was in shock, she jumped away from Jax and sat on the floor crying.

"Shit." Jax muttered. He went to her, "Sweetheart, come here."

Opie opened his eyes when he heard Nat groan. He was sitting in a chair and had fallen asleep. He got up, rifled around for her pain pills, and grabbbed a glass of water.
