Screams In The Night

Draco jerked awake as he heard screaming. He blinked several times, trying to orient himself. He finally climbed off his camp cot. He ran out of the tent, wand in hand, and looked around. He saw several other people out as well.

"Dray, did you hear that?" Harry Potter asked as he exited the next tent. Draco nodded and sighed.

"Tell everyone to get back inside. Then we'll start looking." Draco muttered. He reached a hand up to his face and cringed at the web of scars. Scars he'd received from Lord Voldermort and his own father.

Harry quickly got everyone in their tents. A few member of the Order of the Phoenix had gathered around Draco.

"Someone was screaming. Everyone start looking. I'll be searching the woods over there. I suggest transforming into your animal self if you have that from." Draco said before he turned into a large white wolf with grey eyes. Harry turned into a large black dog.

Jade shivered where she had passed out. She'd suffered a severe beating.

"Oh Merlin. Jade..." Draco muttered as he transformed back to himself, "Oh sweetheart." Jade had been his fiance before he had left Voldermort's army. Draco sent up flares and everyone seemed to appear.

Draco noticed two streams of blood coming from her neck, he ripped a piece of his shirt off and applied pressure. Moments later he removed the clothe and was able to see the source, two punctures.

"A vampire bite.." He breathed.

At this point, Harry still in dog form heard breathing in the woods to the left of him. He moved quietly towards the sound, for a moment his eyes met with a pair of purple eyes in the distance. This is when Raina took off, she ran as fast as she could. Without a word, Harry took off after her.

Jade's eyes fluttered open, "Dray..." She whispered as she clutched at his shirt.

Harry didn't have any problem catching up to the vampire. He knew the woods much better.

"It'll be okay." Draco whispered.

He changed back into his human form as he grabbed her.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." She said quickly.

Draco watched as she stopped breathing. Her transformation was beginning.

Harry shook his head, "it is okay. Come with me. I can help you."

"Leave us." Draco said to the crowd.

She shook her head and struggled to free herself. When she couldn't Harry was surprised, she wasn't very strong yet.

"You're young. You're new." He thought allowed, looking at his grip that was still on her arm.

"Yes." Raina sighed.

Draco muttered a spell that muffled any noises coming from them.

Harry sighed, "who did this to you?"

He wished he could stop it all from happening.

"I didn't know him." Raina said, "His name was James."

Draco watched her painful transformation and was happy when her eyes popped open, "here." He muttered as he offered his arm. Jade looked a little puzzled.

"Drink." He ordered her. He wouldn't become a vampire from her feeding on him.

"Let's find you something to drink."

"What? No." Jade refused.

Raina nodded, "I really didn't mean to do it.."

Draco grabbed her by the back of her head and shoved it to his cut.

Harry shrugged, "it's okay."
