Look Into My Eyes. Everything Will Be Okay

Sadie shivered as she leaned against the wall. The clinking of her chains made her sigh. Today was the third day she'd been locked up. Her feeble attempts of yelling for help had ended after only a few hours. Sadie shrank against the wall when she heard the deadbolts on the door coming undone.

“Well, lookie here!” The big man, whom she’d named Brutus, shrieked as he came in. He was dragging a girl around the age of Sadie in. By her hair. Sadie winced in pain for the girl. He chained the girl to the wall as well and left, laughing shrilly the whole time.

The new girl screamed for a little while. Until Sadie told her to shut the hell up.

“No one can hear us. But don’t worry. We’ll be found. We may be dead though.” Sadie said softly, “I’m Sadie.”

“Jewel.” The other girl muttered and stared at Sadie. Sadie’s clothing was ripped. Bruises and cuts showed on every inch of her viewable skin. Her hair was tangled.

Sherriff Timothy Olyphant glanced up from his file as one of his deputies walked in, "What?"

"Sadie's missing. She's been missing. She never showed up for her dinner with that guy."

“What?” He repeated in disbelief. Sadie was his best friend’s younger sister. Timothy had been in love with her for years.

“Joe just called me.” The deputy said softly. Timothy was wondering why in the world his best friend wouldn’t have come directly to him when Joe stormed in.

“Tim! I bet it’s those fucking retard freaks that took her! We’ve got to fucking find her!”

Jewel looked around and tried to get a handle on where she was.

Joe looked at this phone. Jewel, the girl he had been secretly sleeping with for a few months still hadn't texted him back.

Sadie sighed as she tried to get comfortable. It was impossible.

"Jewel, tell me about you. My brother's sleeping with someone named Jewel. He doesn't know thatI know. But I do." Sadie said softly.

Timothy felt himself freaking out. The 48 hour window was already over for Sadie. She was probably already dead.qq

Jewel muttered, "Um..I don't have any family in town. I just moved here a few months ago. I'm kind of seeing this guy, Joe and I'm a kindergarden teacher."

Joe sat next to Tim, "We have to find her."

"My brother is Joe. Good. Because I like you already." Sadie said in reply, "I'm in love with the sheriff. But I haven't told him because I don't want to lose him. Now I'll never get to tell him." She started crying so Jewel went over to her. Because of the chains it was a little uncomfortable.

"It's okay." Jewel said softly.

Sadie sighed and wiped away her tears, "Sorry. I'm kind of loopy. I've been beaten once a day for three days. And I haven't eaten. My blood sugar is really low." Sadie was a paramedic.

"Get out." Timothy told the deputy. He listened and shut the door, "Joe, we'll have to find a reason to search their house."

"I have a protein bar in my back pocket." Jewel said, "Think we can get to it?"

"We have too." Joe sighed. He looked at his phone again.

"Saddie can't call..." Timothy said.

"I know! It's just Jewel hasn't gotten back to me...all day. It's odd." Joe said, "I was hoping she'd be there for me through this."

Sadie nodded,"Just turn around. It seems they've given us enough room to touch."

Joe sighed, "Go check her house and stuff. I'll get that warrant."

Jewel moved around and Saddie was able to grab the bar.

Joe nodded. This whole thing put him in a haze.

Sadie handed it to Jewel and sighed. She wished that her brother or Tim would save her.

Tim watched as he left and immediatley was able to get a warrant.

Jewel tossed it back to Saddie, "No you eat it. I ate right before they took me, I'll be fine for a while."

"JEWEL!" Joe said, he used the key under her mat to get in. He searched the whole house.

"She's not here." He called Tim's cell.

Sadie ate half of it and pocketed the rest.

Tim nodded to himself, "Then we have reason to believe that she may be where?"

Joe sighed, "I don't really know."

Tim sighed, "Come back up here. I'm going to make you a deputy again."

"Did you know these people?" Jewel asked.

"I'll be there in three minutes. I'm already on my way." He rushed over.

"They are the town freaks" Sadie replied.

Jewel nodded then muttered, "Why us?"

Sadie shrugged, "Tim suspects them of over 100 murders. They just choose at random."

"Can't believe they've never been caught." Was all Jewel muttered.

Sadie smiled woefully, "Joe and Tim will catch them this time. Two men in love will do anything to save their ladies."

"Joe isn't in love wth me." Jewel replied softly. Sadie shrugged with a knowing smile.

The two men, along with the thirty other officers and FBI agents, settled in the conference room, "We haven't much time....We believe they have TWO of our women. Joe's baby sister and a new teacher." Tim said as he stood in front of them.

"Someone's coming down the stairs." Jewel breathed.

The men listened closely. This case was overwhelming.

Sadie sighed, "Just look into my eyes. Everything will be okay."

Jewel did then looked down at the floor.

Sadie sighed as they entered. She closed her eyes tightly.

The girls heard a satanic laugh.

Sadie grabbed Jewel's hand and then opened her eyes. "Brutus", "Tiny", and "Spike' were standing there. A middle-aged woman followed.

The girls didn't say a word.

"Boys, let's take the new one." The woman said. Sadie squeezed Jewel's hand.

'Just think about Joe." She whispered.
