Third Time Might Just Be The Charm (SCOS sequel)

"Ben, I can't go down there." Chris cried to her brother as they were about to leave for the airport.

"Please, I NEED you. Just stay for a few weeks. I'll keep Luke far away from you." Ben begged as he held his child. "I need you."

Chris knew she was out of luck. If her brother needed her then she'd go.

-A Few Hours Later-

Ben and Chris walked into the abandoned plantation and looked around.

"It's nice..." Chris mumbled and put down her suitcase. "Do you think Luke noticed it was us? We were stopped at a light right next him..."

"No, don't worry." Ben muttered, but he was unsure. Would he tell Jade?

"They're back...." Luke breathed as Jade opened the door he had been knocking on.

Ben looked down into the face of his son. Jonathan was five months old now. Luckily he looked just like Ben.

"Did they realtor set up the nursery?" Chris asked. She knew that Ben had paid extra to have everything refurnished and fixed up.

Jade's jaw dropped, "WHAT?" Luke and she had become close friends in the time that Ben and Chris had left. Chad have moved away so Luke felt it was his place to help th 4.5 month pregnant Jade.

Ben nodded, "I'm going to put Jonathan down for a nap."

Chris sat on the stair and waited for him. She looked down at her engagement ring and sighed, she had gotten back to Ryan. Maybe it was the right thing afterall. As if on cue her phone buzzed. Make it down there safely? Don't stay too long!

"I saw them." Luke said, "It was definitely Chris and Ben."

Chris couldn't help but rolls her eyes. She didn't replyto the text She would stay as long as hr brother needed her.

Jade sighed, "Jesus Christ. Oh yes, Mom and Dad are coming back soon. Can I move in with you? You've got that cozy little guest house." As much as Jade wanted to freak out, she had to control herselfsince she had more important things to worry about. Her parents werent pleased.

"You okay?" Ben asked as he came downstairs.

"Sure." He nodded. "Jade, I need to see her."

Chris shrugged, "I don't know...I still love him, Ben. But...I'm engaged again."

Ben sighed, "I came back for her....You know that right?" Chris nodded so he continued, "Luke didn't stop loving you just because you left. He won't stop loving you over that idiot fiance either."

Jade sighed, "I dono what to tell you, Luke. But....I can talk to her first. She's still my bestfriend."

"Are you sure coming back was the right thing to do?" She trusted her big brother's opinion.

"Maybe that'd be a good idea...." Luke sighed.

Ben smiled slightly, "You know...for me it is. And I like Luke a helluva lot more than Ryan. But...I just had a baby. And now I've got another one on the way. And I'm also not with EITHER of my kid's mothers....sooooo maybe you shouldn't listen to me anymore." He was joking with her.

Jade nodded and text her best friend.

Chris leaned into him, he put his arm around his little sister. "I'm scared..."

"Why?" Ben asked.

"I love Luke way too much."

Are you back? She wrote.

Ben sighed and hugged her closer, "I know. But that may not be a bad thing."

Chris's response was a simple Yes

Chris hugged him back, "Oh Ben. I'm so confused."

Jade thought for a moment. "Where are they staying?" She thought aloud.

Ben sighed, "You'll figure something out."

Luke frowned deeper, "The old Miller plantation. I've seen them doing work to it."

"What are you going to say to her?" Chris sighed.

He shrugged, "I dono."

Chris smiled slightly, "You'd better figure it out. She's coming over."

Jade looked up at Luke, "I'm going over there. I'll talk to Chris for you."

Ben's eyes widened.

"Well you did come here for her." Chris said.

"Yeah, I know." He sighed.

"Get her to come to the coffeehouse tonight. I'm playing." Luke said.

"I just didn't expect confrontation. Ever. She doesn't know he's alive."

Jade nodded and smiled, "I will."

"Well, coming here and not expecting confrontation was dumb." Chris muttered then sighed, "Sorry. I'm stressed."

"It's okay." Ben understand.

"You think about what you're going to say to Jade. She'll probably be here soon." Chris got up off the stairs, "I'm going to go back some coffee and something to eat."

Luke ached to see her but he knew it was better if Jade went alone.

"She's back with him, ya know?" Luke said. He had resulting in shamelessly checking the Page Six page of the NY Times website to see if he could catch a glimpse of what Chris was up too. They had a small story about how her engagement to the business heir was back on.

Ben nodded. He went to jon's nusery and sighed.

Jade sighed.

Chris heard a knock on the door, "Jade!" She hugged her as she opened the door.

"You're still tiny!" She exclaimed as she felt of her best friend's belly.

Jade smiled.

"Come in. I made some coffee and cookies." Chris ushered her inside.

Jade laughed, "Jeez-us Chris. Can't you tell I'm trying to watch my figure?"

Ben heard Jade's laugh and felt his heart break a bit. She would never accept Jon, he though. Little did he know, he was VERY wrong.

Chris laughed and brought her in the kitchen. "Ben is upstairs." She said softly.

"Wanna tell me why he ran off? Did that whore manage to take him back?" Jade sounded a little angry.

"She never got an abortion. He's got the baby. She has NO rights." Chris blurted. Jade looked amazed.

"Really? Aw. Ben is such a good guy. That kid's lucky." Jade smiled slightly, "Did he come back for me?"

Chris just nodded and twisted her engagement ring around on her finger.
