Dirty Collar

"Right." Tom nodded as he got up, "Pleasure doing business with you. Thanks for the muffin. I'll be in touch tonight with more details."

Throughout the day Julianna and Tom were contacted by Alex too. Julianna got a text while at lunch with David and Tom a phone call while leaving his boxing gym. She requested they all meet at the same place at the same time, but didn't mention the others.

Later that evening all three found themselves in the same loft elevator.

"What is going on?" Julianna asked as they rode it up to the loft as Alex requested.

"Beats me." Colin thought.

Tom smirked, "Alex is pretty clever sometimes."

"Come on love." Tom said, putting his hand on Julianna's hip waking her out the elevator.

"I need your help taking down David Keller's weapons trade." Alex said immediately. They all nodded instantly, hating violent crimes.

They werent aware of her personal agenda against David though.

Like Colin she had been chasing him a long time but for violent crimes. David had hurt a lot of people.

"I'm sorry but you have to continue to date him." Alex said. "Because I am going to need more paper work like last nights."

"That's okay." Julianna nodded, "He trusts me...shouldn't be too difficult to get you what you need."

Alex nodded, "I hate to ask...well, actually, no I dont. I just want you 3 to know that bring him down will be the last act of my career." She said nothing more and left. Colin, Tom and Julianna stared at each other.

Colin scratched his head, "Well that was a surprise."

Tom shrugged, "maybe she will switch to our side"

"Maybe." Colin said.

"So where does this leave us?" Julianna asked, referring to her previous agreement with Tom.

"Yeah mate you owe me a grand." He joked to Colin before answering Julianna, "Suppose it does no harm to still lift the painting. I have a feeling Alex will turn the other way."

Julianna nodded and then frowned, "you two made a bet about me?"

Tom felt like an idiot, "Just that I couldn't convince you."

"Fuck you, Tom." She snapped. She was annoyed. She walked towards the elevator.

Colin rolled his eyes at Tom, "Julianna, it is because i said you wouldnt work with him in s million years."

"We'll I don't relish Tom making a grand off me. So I think I should get it." She smirked.

Colin grinned, "fight for it. I will just leave it in the corner." He tossed it into the corner and quickly left.

"That's not fair to the lady." Tom said smugly.

"Oh hush." Julianna rolled her eyes. She leap across the room and grabbed it quickly. Tom laughed, of course he wasn't going to try and physically take it from her. Later when they walked out together she handed the envelope to a homeless woman. Julianna didn't needed a thousand dollars.

Colin was heading to Alex's

Tom sighed, "i think i am hungry. Would you like to go omewhere??"

He had a key, that he had stolen, and let himself in.

"You are quitting?" He snapped.

Julianna nodded, "We shouldn't be seen out together though. Why don't you come to my place? I will cook."

"You're in my home..." She raised an eyebrow.

"Youre quitting?!" He repeated himself.

He nodded his agreement.

She sighed, "I dont want to anymore."

Tom and Julianna were having a surprisingly good time as she cooked.

"I really didn't take you for such a home maker." Tom laughed slightly.

"Oh I'm full of surprises." She joked.

"So what will you do after the FBI..." He said slowly.

Tom laughed, "guess we will see."

"It doesnt matter." Sara shrugged. Colin knew she was hiding something.

"Really what do you see in David?" Tom asked, he was always a pretty straight forward guy.

She handed him a plate of pasta puttanesca and answered, "He's not all that bad. He's intelligent, handsome, successful in his own way..."

Colin pulled her close, "What's going on?"

Tom sighed, "i just dont understand."

She smiled sadly, "i am going to have a baby, col. Alone." This last part was said forcefully.

"People like us don't have happily ever afters, Tom." Julianna said before taking another bite.

Tom shrugged, "Not true."

She nodded and sighed. She wasnt upset. She was just lost.

"On the run for the next fifty years? False passports and lies?" Julianna sighed, "No thank you."

"Doesn't have to always be that way." Tom nodded as he ate.

"Am I the father?" He asked softly. They had spent an amazing night together but he knew he had no claim over her.
