Thrill of Speed

Jax Teller stormed into his step-father's office, "Do you ever plan on tell my mother?"

Clay looked up at Jax blankly.

"Gemma thinks you are cheating on her!!" Jax exclaimed. Clay barked out a laugh.

"Natalie is my daughter. Not my girlfriend." He muttered before he looked down at the letter in his hands.

"She's my sister." Jax said in annoyance, "And I'd really like it if my mother doesn't KILL her."

"Gemma's making threats?" Clay asked softly. Jax stared at Clay.

"What is so distracting?"

"Nat is having some problems...I'm going to send you and Opie to watch after her." Clay said before he handed the letter to Jax. He read it quickly and frowned at the fact that his step-sister and her roommate were being threatened and stalked.

"What we should do is pick her up and have her stay with you..." Jax grumbled.

Preston Montgomery slammed the phone down.

"God damn it!" His transport guy had just backed out.

"Daddy what's wrong?" Deliah popped her head into her father's home office.

"Nothing, sweetheart." He smiled at his beloved daughter, "Just lost my temper for a moment."

"Okay." She smiled, "Dinner will be ready in ten!" With that she left and closed his door.

Preston, the local mayor needed someone to transport his new shipment to his suppliers. He began making a few phonecalls to find a guy he could trust. Then a lifelong friend suggested, Jax.

Clay looked up and glared, "I'm not going to uproot her life. Plus Gemma would shit a brick."

Jax groaned, "Okay. We'll head out now." Ten minutes later, Opie and Jax were on their motorcycles headed the hundred and fifty miles east.

Preston walked out of his daughter's hearing and placed the call.

Jax felt his phone buzz and signaled for Opie to pull over. They both did, they hadn't gotten very far.

"Jax." He said as he answered the phone.

"This is Preston Montgomery." Preston started.

"Why the fuck are you calling me?" Jax snapped. He knew the mayor was also the largest supplier of coke in the area but Jax never bothered to fuck with his guys. They didn't bother him, he didn't bother them.

"I have a proposition for you." He said, "One that pays very well."

"Keep talking."

"My usually runner has gone MIA. I need someone to take my shipments to my smaller suppliers. Someone I can trust. I'll pay you 50 grand a shipment, each shipment will need to be delivered to 25 suppliers. That's 2 grand a run. All you have to do is drop it off and pick up my money." Preston said.

Jax was in need of some desperate cash but he still had to think rationally. Finally he agreed and got off the phone.

"Op, I have to go. Something came up." Jax explained to Opie what had just gone down and Opie gave him a look.

"Really?" Opie snapped. Jax simply nodded, "You're a fucking idiot. Fine. I'll go take care of your sister. She's not going to like having a stranger around but you would care about that."

Jax glared, "I do care. She's part of the reason I'm taking this on."

"Leave before I hit you." Opie snapped. Jax hoped on his bike and left, he drove to Preston's house as requested. As he pulled up to the mansion he took a deep breath then knocked. They had just finished dinner.

"Hello!" A dark wavy haired girl answered the door then cocked an eyebrow. What the hell is this huge biker doing here? She wondered.

"I'm uh here to see your dad." Jax mumbled.

She ushered him inside and called, "Daddy, some guy is here for you!"

Preston came running to the foyer, he had been opening he'd answer the door so Deliah wouldn't see Jax.

"Thanks love. This is Jax, he's the new handy man for one of my properties." Preston lied. "Run along, Deliah. We have business to discuss." She just shrugged and walked away. Preston noticed Jax eyes lingering on his daughter's behind as she exited.

Opie cursed to himself as he sped to Natalie.

Jax laughed, "Handy man, huh?"

In record time, Opie made it to Natalie's house. He banged on the door and a plump blonde answered it. Opie blanched slightly. He had expected her to be hott.

"Yes?" She asked in a nasally voice.

"I'm Opie...Your dad sent me.." He muttered. He was feeling less and less happy with this arrangement with ever passing second.

"You must want Natalie. I'm Becca. Come on in." Opie followed Becca inside. She hollered for Natalie.

Natalie walked out of the kitchen. She was tall and dark-haired. She had the same striking eyes as Clay, "Well hello. You must be Opie. Where's my brother?"

Preston chuckled, "I don't like Deliah involved with any business. Daddy's little angel, ya know?"

"Of course." Jax nodded.

"Alright let's talk details." The men spoke for an hour, during which time Deliah yelled good bye to her father while walking out the door. They shook hands and Jax left. He was just entering his neighborhood when he saw Preston's daughter getting out of a car.

"What the fuck is Miss Princess doing here?" Jax mumbled to himself as he slowed down to watch her.

"He's dealing with some business." Opie said, "Looks like you're stuck with me as a babysitter."

It didn't take him long to figure it out.

She shrugged, "Well, it's time to go to the restraunt."

He looked at her blankly and she rolled her eyes, "Daddy and I own a restraunt. I'm the chef. Wow. No preparation. Poor thing. Let's go. Let me just change." He stared at her as she practically bounced out of the room.

He watched her exchange money for a small bag of coke then walk into a local dive bar. He was intrigued by Preston's daughter and decided to park his bike and go have a beer. Jax smirked, when she saw him walk into the bar her eyes widened.

"This should be interesting." He grumbled.

He smirked and walked over to her, "Hello."

Becca was staring at him and had been since he'd arrived.

"What do you want?" He asked in annoyance.

"Are you single?" She asked.

"No." He snapped. He was but he knew what was going on. Another one of those frumpy girls that thought they were God's gift.

Deliah sipped her beer. "Hey there handy man." She rolled her eyes.

"What's a princess like you doing in a place like this?" He sat down and was immediately brought whiskey.

"I'm not a princess and I'm just having a beer." She said simply.

She pouted and Natalie finally came back out.

"Let's go!"

"What would Daddy have to saY?" Jax asked with a raised eyebrow.

They walked outside and she looked at him inquiringly.

"Yes?" He said. She was definitely Clay's child.

"Would you like to take my car or should we go on your bike?"

"What he doesn't know won't hurt him." She shrugged.

"Who says he won't find out." Jax teased her.

"Do not tell my dad you saw me here." Deliah warned.

"Bike." He grumbled.

"Or?" Jax teased.

Nat smiled slightly but she got on the bike behind him. She thought he was very sexy and his little brooding thing was adorable.

"He could always find another handy man." Deliah teased back. She knew there was no way the Vice President of the most prestigious biker gang around was working as a "handy man" for her father, but at the moment, she didn't want to know what he was doing coming around her house.

"Might wanna know about the bag of coke I just saw you buy." Jax whispered harshly, his mouth close to her ear.

"You saw wrong." She said defensively.

When they arrived he raised an eyebrow, "What am I supposed to do while you're at work all night?"

Jax smirked, "Twenty dollars your daddy will believe me."

She smiled, "You get to watch my every move."

"Sounds awesome." Opie muttered. Natalie laughed.

"Hush. I'll cook you up something AMAZING. And my laptop is here. You can play on the internet or something."

"And he would believe you because?" Deliah asked.

Jax laughed, "He sure thinks I'm a trustworthy employee."

"Right." She raised an eyebrow, "And when exactly did the VPs of biker gangs take on being handymen?

Opie shrugged, "Alright." He said in the corner of the kitchen. "Got any beer?"

Jax winked at her. He wasn't stupid and he knew she wasn't. Her father couldn't hide what he was doing from her.

She rolled her eyes and led him to the kitchen. She pointed at a large walk-in cooler.

"So if you'll excuse me..I'm going to go indulge in my purchase." Deliah smirked and went to get up.

He pulled her back onto the bar stool gently, "Stay here in and drink with me instead?"

"Join me." She said.

"Blow isn't my thing. Have another drink." Jax said.

"Okay fine." Deliah shrugged.

He grabbed one. "Want one?" She raised an eyebrow, "What you can cook and drink!"

Jax loved the power of his persuasion.

"I'll have to pass for now. You might want to check in with my dad."

"So are you at least going to buy me a drink?" She winked. Jax signaled to the bartender, he brought them a bottle of Jack Daniels. "That's one way to do it." Deliah laughed.

"Oh shit yeah." Opie said as he grabbed his phone and called Clay.

Jax grinned, "I have style."

Clay answered and they talked briefly.

Deliah took a swig from the bottle and Jax smiled. "You are a very interesting girl." Jax said.

"Eh..rich girl rebels against Daddy..like the bad boys." Deliah smirked, "Oldest story around."

"Likes bad boys?" Jax asked with a smirk.

When Opie hung up he sighed, "Fuck knows how long I'll be here."

He smiled to himself, "So daddy would hate it if you slept with me, huh?"

"So leave. If you are so unhappy, go home. I can take care of myself." Natalie said sweetly.

He stared at her as if she was stupid, "I can't leave. And I'm not unhappy. I just hate this babysitting crap."
