Love, Kids, Gossip, and NYC

The guys elected to keep the children. As soon as the girls were in the lobby, Chuck spilled the beans to Nate.

Nate looked unhappy, "Damn it."

The girls walked down 5th Avenue. "Gucci?" Brighton asked as she nodded down the block.

"She doesn't want you to know. So perhaps you can just stumble into our meeting." Chuck said simply.

Kel grinned, "Yes."

Nate nodded, "Course." He was fuming mad but he was good at keeping his emotions in check.

"Don't worry. I won't let this get out." Chuck said, "It'll be just like high school. We'll meet. Carter will threaten me. I'll give him a plane ticket to Guam and he'll be out of here for a few years."

As they walked Kel eased into her end of the deal with Chuck, "So B you're looking a little thin. Stressed about the wedding?"

Brighton nodded.

Nate shook his head in anger, "Yeah. But just for a few years. I've already done this with him once."

Kel sighed, "Don't stress. You're getting too thin again."

"That's what Bazien does." Chuck shrugged, "Comes back to town every few years. Next time he'll be torturing someone else. Let's just see what he has first, if he has anything at all."

"I want to be thin for the wedding." She said simply, "Chuck is mad, isn't he?"

Nate nodded. He was livid.

Her sister nodded.

Chuck knew this, when Nate was really really pissed he didn't say anything at all. Chuck put his hand on his friend's shoulder, "We'll take care of this. I promise..."

Brighton sighed, "What if getting married is a bad idea..."

"I know, Chuck. It's just stupid. I pushed my wife into having an affair. Why can't the guy go away?"

"You didn't push her." Chuck said, although he wasn't sure.

Nate smiled woefully, "Yes I did. Let's leave it at that."

"Why wouldn't it be? Chuck is wonderful to you." Kel said calmly.

Chuck winced slightly but nodded. Lilianna came barging in, "Daddy! When are we going to pick out my pony?"

"After the wedding, love. We're very busy." He smiled slightly.

"I never said Chuck was the problem." She sighed.

She pouted for a minute and then ran off.

Kel looked away from the clothes she was looking at, "There isn't anything wrong with you either."

Nate laughed slightly, "That one is a bit of a handful."

"Takes after her mother." Chuck laughed.

Brighton shrugged, "Marriage. It's just well BIG."

Nate smiled, "It's pretty nice being a parent."
